Popular micropub The Cann Bridge Ale House in Higher Walton is up for sale

A popular South Ribble micropub has been placed on the market for those looking to enter the industry - or expand their profile.

The Cann Bridge Ale House in Higher Walton, near Bamber Bridge, Lancashire, is available for a cool £30,000.

The pub was established in 2018 by Haydn Williams, the man behind Leyland’s Crankshaft Brewery.

Daltons Business, which is showcasing the pub, says: "The bar has a strong base of regular customers in place as well as benefiting from a huge amount of passing trade due to this excellent trading position.

"Our client has ensured the business has an excellent reputation and superb reviews are noted on Google, Trip Advisor and Facebook in addition to the business noted in The Good Beer Guide."

The ale house can be found at the end of Kittlingborne Brow, opposite the Mill Tavern pub.

Accounts up until March 31, 2019 show it has an annual turnover of £64,675 and a gross profit of £29,382. Full financial information can be obtained upon request.

The building itself is available on a three-year full repair and insure lease which started in 2018, running at a cost of £150 per week.

Daltons Business adds: "This is a newly established business which occupies a superb trading position and has a strong base of regular customers in place.

"Our client has worked hard to generate interest and has provided a solid foundation for a new owner.

"There is plenty of scope to develop the business further with the introduction of a website, strong marketing drive, longer opening hours and additional staff to manage a higher workload.

"This proposition would ideally suit an owner operating team who could push the business forward and build upon the solid and impressive trading foundations. Early viewings are strongly advised."

In April 2019, World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty was at the pub to launch Crankshaft Brewery's Foggy Gold, named in honour of him.

The pub comes fully fitted with tables, chairs, bar fittings, air conditioning, mirrors, pumps, drinks display fridge, commercial glass wash, and an ice machine.

Its current trading hours are 4pm until 11pm Wednesday to Friday and 3pm until 11pm Saturday and Sunday.

It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
