New Micropub comes to town in Bridlington after gaining council approval

On the 7th April, at a virtual meeting of the Eastern Area planning committee for East Riding Council, plans were approved by the councillors to turn the former Memory Lane sweet shop on Marshall Avenue in Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire, into the Three Bs Micropub.

There were several objections to the applicants plans including an objection from Bridlington Town Council, however the planning committee councillors followed the planning officer’s recommendations to approve the plans.

The joint applicants, Cheryl and Mark Bates said “We are delighted our plans have been approved which can now mean we can progress on turning the current empty unit into a destination for real ale and cider lovers from Bridlington and further afield. We are looking to start the conversion work very soon and we plan to be open before the end of April.

“If the current restrictions are still in force, we plan to offer beer and cider take outs as well as offering a delivery service within the Bridlington area”.

Further information:

● The pub will be owned and run by the applicants

● The pub will sell a limited number of drinks concentrating on its core products of quality craft/real ale and ciders which will mainly be sourced from Yorkshire

● There will be no electronic distractions at the pub such as jukeboxes, music, or TV’s. Instead customers will enjoy the quiet relaxing atmosphere of pubs of old
